Brooks Transport Service is a division of Brooks Hire which was established in 1979 by Doug Brooks. Back then, as a long-haired teenager, Doug decided to take a risk and borrow money to buy 2 dismantled compressors, which he fixed and started hiring out. What started as 2 compressors on hire, soon turned into 12 pumps on hire. At the time, Doug was operating the business out of a shed in Eneabba while living in a humpy at the back of the shed and also working locally as a fitter. He used his F350 truck to deliver his pumps and compressors to job sites.

In 1982, Doug Brooks purchased his first piece of large mobile equipment, an 8 tonne JEC crane. The problem was, the machine was located in Perth, and he needed to get it to Eneabba, some 300kms away. Unable to afford the cost of transport, and unable to fit the crane on the back of his F350, Doug decided to drive the crane there himself. After a slow and gruelling 13-hour drive, and a near miss with a passing truck, Doug decided that he needed to come up with a safe and efficient way to transport his machines. This is when the decision was made to purchase his own truck. It was some years later that Doug purchased his second truck, and then the third. By this time, his business had grown too big for his shed in Eneabba, and he built his own premises in Coulson Way, Canning Vale. His family was also growing with the addition of his wife Roma, sons Keith and Stuart, and daughter Lenore.

Today the company has grown to be Australia's largest privately owned equipment hire business and is still being operated by Doug Brooks and his family. We are proud to be 100% Australian family owned and operated with a fleet of transport vehicles all over Australia.
